What changes here

Feel what is here without handing it the wheel.

Emotional alignment treats feelings as information. The practice creates enough space to notice an emotion, regulate intensity, and choose a response that reflects your values.

Support from a licensed mental health professional belongs in the plan when emotions feel overwhelming, persistent, unsafe, or connected to trauma.

Inside the workbook

What you will work through.

01

Patterns to notice

  • Suppressing emotion until it appears through withdrawal, tension, or an unexpected reaction.
  • Letting an intense temporary feeling make a lasting decision.
  • Using analysis to avoid vulnerability or the physical experience of emotion.
02

The practice

  • Awareness: name the emotion, locate it in the body, and identify the trigger without immediate action.
  • Regulation: breathe slowly, ground through the senses, move gently, or pause the conversation.
  • Integration: express the feeling constructively, listen with empathy, and set a clear boundary when needed.
03

A 21-day rhythm

  • Week 1: complete short emotional check-ins and identify five common triggers and response patterns.
  • Week 2: practice one regulation skill each day and use it before responding in a challenging moment.
  • Week 3: have one honest conversation at a manageable level of difficulty and reflect on what helped.

A first reflection

One question for today.

Name the emotion beneath today’s tension with one precise word. Notice the space that naming creates.
